Machine wash at 30°C with a gentle detergent. No bleach. No fabric softener — it coats the fibres and reduces absorbency over time. Tumble dry low or air dry flat. The first two washes may release a small amount of lint — this settles quickly. By wash five it is the softest thing in your bathroom.
Regular cotton is woven with every fibre — rough ones, short ones, the ones that cause pilling. Combed cotton removes all of those before weaving, leaving only the long smooth fibres. The result is a towel that feels better from day one and improves with every wash.
